WHAT WE TREAT
Common orthopedic conditions
The conditions we see most often, and how each is actually treated.

Cruciate ligament tears
Usually stabilised through TPLO or lateral suture surgery

Spinal compression
A bulging or ruptured disc pressing on the spinal cord

Fracture repair
Stabilised using plates, pins, or external fixators

Total hip replacement
A precision implant replaces the damaged joint

Hip dysplasia
Treatment options vary by your pet's age and severity

Total shoulder replacement
Diseased shoulder structures replaced with an implant

Patellar luxation
A kneecap that slips out of its place in the thighbone

Total knee replacement
A custom artificial joint restores stable movement

SIGNS TO WATCH OUT FOR
When to book an evaluation
A few of these on their own can be easy to overlook, but they're often the first clue something's genuinely wrong.
Persistent limping
Swollen or tender joints
Sudden reluctance to move
Difficulty rising or climbing stairs
Audible joint popping
Noticeable muscle loss in one leg
Some orthopedic conditions are easier to manage when identified early. If limping, pain or reluctance to move persists, an orthopedic evaluation can help identify the cause before the problem progresses.
THE STARTING POINT
A full exam before any decision
We start with a full orthopaedic exam, including a weight-bearing assessment, to confirm the diagnosis and understand what your pet needs. We also talk through their symptoms and mobility at home, and run pre-anaesthetic bloodwork where appropriate.
Imaging comes next, with digital X-rays or, for complex joint and spinal cases, on-site Fidex-FS CT. You then receive a full estimate and recovery plan, and we book surgery only once we are confident it is the right next step for your pet.

THE OPERATION
Surgery with the same care every time
Every procedure is carried out with the same care and attention. Your pet has general anaesthesia in a sterile theatre built for orthopaedic work, with a dedicated nurse monitoring vitals from start to finish. We use the Arthrex TPLO system for cruciate ligament repair and precision implants for joint replacement cases.
Afterwards, many pets begin using the affected limb within days, and regular rechecks track healing and adjust the plan if needed.

SECOND OPINION
Already been told your pet needs surgery?
A surgery recommendation is a big decision. If another vet has suggested orthopedic surgery for your pet, Dr. Singh can review the diagnosis, walk you through the alternatives, and confirm whether surgery is really the right next step.
FOR REFERRING VETS
Refer the cases you can't fully work up in-house
Most clinics don't have on-site CT imaging or the surgical setup for complex fractures and joint replacements, which can make some orthopedic cases hard to manage without specialist support.
We take orthopedic referrals from practices across Dubai and the wider UAE. Your client stays your client. We treat the joint or fracture, report back to you in full, and return them to your care.
Most clinics don't have a slit lamp, a tonometer, gonioscopy, or an ERG, which makes some eye cases impossible to diagnose properly however good the vet is.
We take ophthalmology referrals from practices across Dubai and the wider UAE. Your client stays your client. We see the eye, report back to you in full, and return them to your care.
How referral works
Send the case notes and we'll confirm an appointment, usually within 48 hours
Urgent cases, fractures and acute spinal compression among them, seen the same day
A full written report with imaging back to you after every consultation
We treat the orthopedic issue only. Everything else stays with you

Everything You Need to Know
Frequently Asked Questions
Should my dog have TPLO or a lateral suture repair for a torn ligament?
The decision depends on your dog's size, activity level, knee stability, age, and individual anatomy. TPLO is commonly favoured for larger or more active dogs, while an extracapsular/lateral suture technique may be appropriate for some smaller or less active dogs. Dr. Singh can recommend the most suitable option after examining your pet.
Is my pet too old for orthopedic surgery?
Age alone does not necessarily rule out orthopedic surgery. Overall health, the specific condition, expected benefits and anaesthetic risk all matter when deciding whether surgery is appropriate.
Will my pet need physical therapy after surgery?
Often, yes, particularly after TPLO or a fracture repair. We'll explain whether rehabilitation is recommended for your pet and what it will involve as part of the recovery plan.
Does pet insurance cover orthopedic surgery?
Coverage depends on your insurer, your policy terms and whether the condition was pre-existing. Ask your insurer about eligibility before treatment, and we'll provide the relevant medical records and invoices needed for your claim.
How much does orthopedic surgery cost?
The consultation is 290 AED. Surgery itself is quoted individually after imaging, since cost depends on the procedure and your pet's condition.
Can I get a second opinion before deciding on surgery?
Yes. If another vet has recommended surgery, our team can review the diagnosis and confirm the right course of treatment before anything is booked.
Can my pet return to normal activity after surgery?
Most pets can, after a proper healing period. You'll get a clear home-care plan, and we track progress at regular rechecks to catch any complications early.
